Mit dem Magnavox Odyssey wurde 1972 die erste Spielkonsole auf den Markt gebracht. Seitdem ist der PC- und Videospiele-Markt neben der Filmbranche zum umsatzstärksten Markt im Unterhaltungssektor herangewachsen. Computerspiele emanzipieren sich zunehmend als ernstzunehmendes und eigenständiges Medium.
Ziel dieses Portals ist es, den Bereich Computerspiele (insbesondere PC- und Videospiele) für die Wikipedia aufzuarbeiten.
